Number 1 Like of Innkeeping!

When I started this, I knew where it was going but not the road it would take.  Yesterday I saw a posting on Facebook by Chef Dallas Holt.  It gave no author but the message really rang true for me and my Likes of Innkeeping.  "In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take, relationship we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited to make."  I thought to myself, wow this says it all about this adventure we have had the last 8 1/2 years. How perfect this posting was for me!  Kind of strange in its "perfect timing".  You see after 8 1/2 years we have made the decision that it is time for us to really retire and live the next adventure in our lives.  Yes as of this December 17th, we will close down Oakridge Manor B&B.  We will do it with no regrets as we did take the chance to live out a dream.  We have had so many wonderful relationships with you our guests and now friends.   We are thankful we made the decision when we did and didn't wait for "tomorrow" to try this crazy idea of running a bed and breakfast.  We have more than "liked" our chosen "road" these past 8 years and will have no regrets about taking it.  Now it is time for us to look towards new adventures, more time with our children and grandchildren and with each other.  We will miss seeing many of our regulars come thru our door but will cherish the many friendships we have made along the way.  We thank all our many guest for making this adventure truly memorable, our fellow innkeepers for all their help and friendship.  I will close in thanking our children who may have thought their parents had lost it when they saw the wreck of a place they bought in Southern Illinois.  They have supported us in this crazy idea and have helped us along the way, with their love, support and even hard work here.

Until next time,  Anna
