#6

Some how yesterday got away from me and my Ten Likes of Innkeeping posting of like #6 just didn't happen.  Ya know, that is just how the day of a innkeeper is sometime - not quite enough hours in it to do all that needs to be done.  Still working on yesterdays laundry not to mention innkeeper laundry. You think that is funny but we do need clean clothes every once in a while.  I think my number 6 comes from the reaction I get when my guests walk in the front (sometimes kitchen) door.  Many of you know the story of this place - bank repo.  It really was a wreck when we bought it.  So much so that our children even thought we were crazy.  But with alot of hard work,  more hard work and even more hard work it has been transfromed into a pretty nice place to live let alone welcome guests.  Being here on a day to day basis, it is easy to forget how lucky we are (that goes for alot of things our life).  Greeting guests and have them remark on the place brings it all back.  My Dad always used to say a little hard work never hurt anyone.  I think he would be proud!  I know he would get a kick out of seeing me on the tractor,  not that it happens all that often but it has happened.  Living here, meeting so many people and helping them experience the beauty of Southern Illinois (but that is another Like) really is a totally rewarding part of being a innkeeper.

Until later,  Anna
