Took Derby Riding!
We here in Southern Illinois have been suffering with the heat and lack of rain, much like the rest of the country. Haven't had Derby out for a ride since early April save for a short one about a week or two ago. Can't tell you how good it felt to feel the breeze in my hair (even if it was a bit warm). Derby really enjoy the tall grass or should I say weeds. Only things growing in the yard right now are weeds but we made our way thru them in nothing flat. I was worried at first that Derby would balk at coming out since it had been so long but he preformed like a champ. We made circles around the yard chasing after those weeks like kids let loose in a candy store. Must admit after such a long time with out any actions it was good to be out together again. We most likely looked like a strange site - no real plan to the path we took. We just went crazy chasing after those weeds. All in all it was great fun and as I always tell out guests, it gets me out of the house. Hopefully we will have some real rain soon so the grass will grow and green up this place. Until then it looks like my trusty lawnmower we have another long rest in the garage. I actually do miss cutting the grass!!! Until next time, Anna.
