"Babymoons"

Well, we have had our share of "Babymoons" these past few weeks.  What a wonderful way to just getaway and relax before the blessed event happens and your whole world changes.  Our guests have come just to relax and reconnect before they have their (usually) firstborn.  It is so much fun to share in their anticipation and joy.  For us it is especially exciting as we await the birth of our second grandchild, a little girl.  She will be making her entrance into our world in just over a week and we are excited beyond words.  Her big brother hasn't figured out why it is taking so long but is really excited and will be the best big bother ever.  Of course that is just his Grandmother speaking.  But back to our guests.  The weather here in Southern Illinois had been spectacular and our Babymooners (if that is a word) have taken great advantage of it.  Short trips to Garden of the Gods and Giant City State Park for a easy bit of hiking.  Back to www.oakridgemanor.com for some relaxing by the in ground swimming pool has capped off the day.  Hard to realize that the pool water could be so inviting this early in May and June.  Our annual Memorial Day cook out was perfect and everyone enjoyed a dip in the pool to cool off.  June is off to a great start considering we will be closed most of this week.  Have our joint regional Illinois Bed and Breakfast Association meeting in Mount Vernon at Sidwell Friends Bed and Breakfast a great place to stay if you are in the area (we totally loved our stay, thank you Larry) and Inglenook Farm Bed and Breakfast (this will be our first visit but we let you know about it next time).  I am then off to Chicago for a Mother/Daughter weekend thanks to our Daughter.  California calls at the end of the month to meet our new Grandchild and of course spoil our Jack. July looks to be a good month also, so if you are considering a "staycation" in Southern Illinois check out our website www.oakridgemanor.com We look forward to seeing you and as always welcoming back our returning guests.  Until next time, Anna
